On October 25, the opening ceremony of the 1 million kilowatt photovoltaic pilot project of the new energy base in southern Ordos, Kubuqi Desert, Inner Mongolia, was held in Shuofang New Energy Base, Hangjin Banner, Ordos City. The total investment of
Inner Mongolia Kubuqi Desert Ordos Southern New Energy Base Project is 76 billion yuan , 53% of which is held by Huaneng Group North United Power Company, 44% by Municipal State Investment Group New Energy Company and 3% by Vision Energy Company. Jointly established Inner Mongolia Huaneng Kubuqi Energy Co., Ltd., which was registered on November 30, 2022. The overall construction scale of the project is 12 million kilowatts, including 4 million kilowatts of wind power and 8 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power . The starting point of the supporting UHV transmission line is located in Ordos City, and the landing point is in the central and eastern regions. By 2025, a large-scale comprehensive energy delivery base with intensive development, science and technology leading, multi-energy complementary and international leading will be built in the southern desert of Ordos.
