On October 12, Hengdian Dongci announced that the first phase of the 6GW production line of the new high-efficiency battery project with an annual output of 12 GW had been completed and gradually put into operation.
It is reported that on November 29, 2022, Hengdian Dongci signed the Investment Agreement for the New High Efficiency Battery Project with the People's Government of Xuzhou District, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, and the Management Committee of Yibin High-tech Industrial Park. It is planned to set up a subsidiary company in Xuzhou District, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, and invest in the construction of a new type of high efficiency battery project with an annual output of 20g W step by step. The total investment of the project is 10 billion yuan, which is implemented in three phases. The first phase invests in the construction of 6GW new high-efficiency TOPCon batteries per year , and the second phase invests in the construction of 6GW new high-efficiency TOPCon batteries per year. The third phase will invest in the construction of next generation high-efficiency batteries with an annual output of 8g W. The specific construction scale, construction time and technical route of the third phase production line will be promoted according to the production and operation situation and the maturity of next generation photovoltaic technology.
Its subsidiary, Sichuan Dongci New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., intends to invest in the first and second phases of the project, totaling 12 GW high-efficiency battery projects. The total investment of the project is about 3.554 billion yuan, and 12 GW TOPCon battery capacity is expected to be added after the completion of the project.
