In order to further strengthen river management and resolutely crack down on illegal mining of river sand, a few days ago, the Water Conservancy and Lake Bureau of Xiaohe Town, Xiaochang County, Xiaogan City, Hubei Province, went to the Yellow Lake section of Dawu River to conduct on-site investigation and formulate a work plan to curb illegal mining of river sand.
Xiaohe Town co-ordinates funds of more than 200000 yuan to repair 4 kilometers of river slope protection in the Yellow Lake section of Dawu River. After the completion of the project, an isolation zone can be formed, which can effectively prevent illegal river sand mining.
"Since this year, Zhenhe Sand Office has carried out river inspections in conjunction with Zhenhe Reservoir Office, Water Station, Police Station, Land Office, Forestry Station and other departments for many times, severely cracked down on illegal sand mining activities, carried out more than 912 inspections at the town and village levels, and seized 15 tricycles, 6 trucks, 3 excavators and 4 forklifts." Zhou Yaobing, head of Xiaohe Town River Sand Office, said.
Next, Xiaohe Town will further strengthen river patrol at all levels, implement territorial management responsibilities, treat the "four disorders" of rivers and lakes with a "zero tolerance" attitude, and contribute to the construction of happy rivers and lakes.
