Xiangyang: Strengthen the Management of River Sand Mining to Ensure the Safety of Flood Discharge in Rivers and Lakes

of July 26, in accordance with the requirements of the Notice of the Office of the Water Conservancy Department of Hubei Province on the Investigation of River Sand Mining Management and Law Enforcement of River and Lake Protection, the Sand Administration Bureau of the Water Conservancy Department of Hubei Province and the Municipal Water Conservancy and Lake Bureau went to Gucheng County to investigate the management of river sand mining and the protection of rivers and lakes. The relevant responsible comrades of the County Government Office and the County Water Conservancy Bureau accompanied the investigation.

The research team inspected the temporary landing point of Tawan on the spot, and fully affirmed the shoreline restoration and greening work of the temporary landing point of Tawan. At the

symposium, the research team listened to the report on the management of river sand mining and the protection of rivers and lakes in Gucheng County, and put forward the work requirements. Firstly, we should strengthen the construction of law enforcement team, secondly, we should enhance the ability of law enforcement, and thirdly, we should rectify sporadic illegal mining under high pressure.
