Recently, the Department of Ecology and Environment of Shaanxi Province issued the Announcement on the Approval of the Environmental Impact Report on the Upgrading Project of 80000 Tons of Electronic Grade Granular Polysilicon Industry of Shaanxi Nonferrous Tianhong Ruike Silicon Materials Co., Ltd.
The announcement shows that Shaanxi Nonferrous Tianhong Ruike Silicon Material Co., Ltd. intends to build 80000 tons/year granular polysilicon project in Yujia Industrial New Area, Yulin City, Shanxi Province. The project is divided into two parts of 25,000 tons/year and 55,000 tons/year, with a total investment of 9.67876 billion yuan. The project is to use the existing cold hydrogenation, disproportionation, rectification and FBR reduction technology to prepare granular polysilicon by using silicon tetrachloride, silicon powder and hydrogen through the FBR reduction device.
After review, the adverse impact of the project construction on the environment can be mitigated and controlled under the condition of fully implementing the ecological environment protection and pollution prevention measures proposed in the environmental impact report. The Department of Ecological Environment of Shaanxi Province agrees in principle with the overall conclusion of the environmental impact assessment of the project and the ecological environment protection measures.
