It will be shipped from Shanghai Port to Malaysia, a country along the "the Belt and Road". This is also the first batch of smart trams delivered to Southeast Asia.
The hydrogen smart rail will be used for urban transport services in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. For the first time, the vehicle uses hydrogen energy power system , which has a longer range, shorter hydrogenation time, lower carbon, energy saving and environmental protection. Through intelligent design and upgrading, the vehicle has higher "wisdom", which highly meets the needs of Malaysia to achieve zero emission and intelligent public transport system.
At the same time, the vehicle innovatively adopts 70 MPa hydrogen storage system and high-power fuel cell system, with a driving range of 245 kilometers. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with a distributed power system, which is more compact, lighter and more powerful, and can bring more comfortable and faster travel experience to Kuching citizens.
Considering that Malaysia is a tropical rainforest climate with high temperature and rainy weather throughout the year, the R & D team of Zhongche Zhuzhou Institute optimizes the vehicle structure design, material technology and other aspects to make the vehicle performance more suitable for the local climate environment. In July
2022, after international bidding, CRRC Zhuzhou successfully won the bid for the smart rail project in Kuching, Malaysia, with a total of three lines, a total of 69.9 kilometers, equipped with 38 smart trams. Since the establishment of the cooperative relationship between the two sides, Sarawak has sent two delegations to Zhuzhou and Yibin for investigation and research, and the first hydrogen energy intelligent rail has successfully passed the third-party inspection and the owner's FAI inspection. After arriving in Malaysia,
the train will conduct a three-month test run in Kuching City. The successful landing of Zhongche Intelligent Rail in Malaysia will effectively alleviate traffic congestion in Kuching City, bring reliable, efficient and modern new modes of travel to the local area, and also form a good demonstration role for China's high-end equipment manufacturing in Southeast Asia and even in the world, and help China's intelligent manufacturing better serve the countries along the "the Belt and Road".
