In 2025, the total value of cement, glass, ceramics and stone products imported by Azerbaijan from Turkey reached 44.322 million US dollars, down 15.8% from the same period last year. In December, the monthly import volume was 5.288 million US dollars, an increase of 22% over the same period last year. The United States was the largest buyer of such products in Turkey, with imports of $751.36 million (up 9.3%), followed by Italy ( $290.76 million, up 11.9%) and Germany ( $259.32 million, up 4.4%), according to the Turkish Exporters Congress.
Turkey's overall exports of such products reached $4.499 billion in 2025, up 4.4% from a year earlier, and exports rose 13.5% to $385 million in December. As an important importer of Turkish building materials products, Azerbaijan's import volume declined throughout the year, but the growth rate turned positive in December, showing signs of a recovery in market demand.
This trade pattern reflects Turkey's competitive advantage in the field of building materials exports. Its products have stable demand in European, North American and Central Asian markets, and technical standards and price competitiveness are the main advantages. Azerbaijan's import decline may be related to the cyclical adjustment of the domestic construction market, but the recovery growth at the end of the year indicates that demand may pick up in 2026.
