Nigerian billionaire Abdul Samad Rabiu is pushing his BUA Cement company for a new round of capacity expansion in northern Nigeria. A major expansion plan was finalised after a meeting in Dubai with Sinoma Construction Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China National Materials International Engineering Co Ltd. This cooperation is based on a strategic partnership of more than 15 years, during which Sinoma International has delivered cement production lines with a total capacity of about 14 million tons for BUA. The core of the
expansion is a new production line with an annual output of 3 million tons at the Bua Cement Sokoto plant. The total investment of the project is about 240 million US dollars, covering engineering design, equipment procurement and construction, and equipped with self-owned power plants and supporting infrastructure.
