2025, Iran's cement consumption fell by 7.3% year-on-year to 34.559 million tons, compared with 37.261 million tons in the same period last year. Cement production totaled 37.765 million tons, down 3.7% from 39.234 million tons in the same period last year. Clinker output was 43.035 million tons, a slight decrease of 0.2% compared with 43.108 million tons in the same period last year.
In the same period, Iran's cement exports totaled 3.369 million tons, up 4.6% from 3.22 million tons in the same period in 2024. However, clinker exports fell 20.6% year-on-year to 3.533 million tonnes from 4.449 million tonnes in the same period last year.
The domestic housing market continues to be depressed and the economic situation is difficult, which has a greater impact on the demand for cement. At the same time, the government has set restrictions on cement production for the sake of power supply, which has also affected cement production to some extent. In addition, regional tensions also bring some risks. For example, the Najamat al-Asamawa cement plant, jointly operated by Lucky Cement and the United Arab Emirates Ashmukh Group, was attacked by drones in June, but did not cause significant damage. After the completion of the new expansion in May, the cement production capacity reached 1.82 million tons per year.
