Recently, Inner Mongolia Xing'an League Jinfeng 2 million kilowatt wind power green hydrogen demonstration project (grid-connected type) was approved by the Autonomous Region Energy Bureau.
It is reported that the project is planned to invest 13.665 billion yuan , with a wind power scale of 2 million kilowatts and an annual hydrogen production of 92.2 million tons . Supporting the construction of 118 tons of hydrogen storage facilities and 160000 kilowatts/2 hours of energy storage facilities is the largest demonstration project of wind power hydrogen production integration in Inner Mongolia. The water source for hydrogen production is the Chaersen Reservoir (surface water), and the hydrogen consumption scenario is the supporting 561,800 tons of green methanol demonstration project, which is the largest green methanol project in the world so far, and the green methanol produced is mainly used for zero-carbon fuel in the maritime industry.
The project has completed the signing of cooperation agreement, company registration, pre-feasibility study preparation, wind farm site selection and risk investigation report components. Part of the 2 million kilowatt wind farm is located in Zalaite Banner, where anemometer towers are currently being installed. It is expected to start construction in July 2024 and be connected to the grid by the end of December 2025; Part of the construction site of the methanol plant is located in the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Xing'an League. The project filing, social stability assessment and water conservation filing have been completed. At present, the preparation of environmental assessment, safety assessment, energy assessment and job assessment reports is under way. It is expected that the formalities will be completed by the end of this year and the construction will start in March 2024.
The project relies on the "Enclave Park" of the League Economic and Technological Development Zone to develop wind power resources in Zalaite Banner through the "Enclave Economy" model. After the completion of the project, the annual output of green electricity will be 6.5 billion degrees and the annual output of green methanol will be 500,000 tons. In August
2022, Xinjiang Jinfeng Science and Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xing'an League Administrative Office to start the preliminary work of Jinfeng Science and Technology's first large-scale wind power hydrogen production project, and carried out several rounds of technical demonstration and iteration from site selection to technical scheme. It took 15 months to complete the closed-loop process of technical scheme, implementation path, signing of methanol association and one-time approval of 2 million projects.
