American Concrete Limited successfully acquired two companies.

< DIV align = justify > On Wednesday, American Concrete Inc. announced the successful acquisition of Alberta Investments Ltd. and Union Transportation Ltd. for $165 million.
< DIV align = justify > Last month, American Concrete said it would buy both companies.
< DIV align = justify > Alberta Investments Limited has two subsidiaries, Redi-Mix and Ingram, which are the main businesses of Alberta Investments Limited. Of these, Redi-Mix operates 13 ready-mix concrete plants in the Fort Worth area of Dallas and the North Country, while Ingram operates 17 ready-mix concrete plants and three sand and stone plants in West Texas. In addition, Redi-Mix and Ingram jointly operate a fleet of approximately 310 mixer trucks. In 2005, the two companies produced approximately 2.4 million cubic yards of ready-mixed concrete and 1.2 million tons of aggregate.
< DIV align = justify > Union Transport Ltd works with Redi-Mix and third party transport companies to provide cement and aggregate transport services to the community using their transport fleets. Alberta Investments Ltd. and United Transportation Ltd. generated $181 million in revenue in the 12 months to March 31, 2006.
< DIV align = justify > Houston American Concrete, Inc. manufactures ready-mix concrete and concrete-related products, and provides services to the construction industry in several major markets in the United States. < DIV align = justify > The president and CEO Eugene P. Martineau of American Concrete said the integration of the two companies would begin immediately. "We hope that the actual integration work will be combined with the company's original ready-mix concrete plant work in Dallas to provide the company's competitiveness in the market," he said. < DIV align = justify > Including all of Alberta Investments' and United Transportation 'plants, American Concrete currently operates 136 fixed ready-mix plants, seven mobile ready-mix plants, 10 precast concrete plants, three concrete brick plants, and six aggregate plants.
