水泥工业碳减排的技术路径

水泥工业碳减排的主要技术路径有:降低生产能耗、使用替代燃料、提高熟料质量和降低原材料碳酸盐分解的排放量。

编者按:齐冬有等3位业内人士撰写了“水泥工业碳减排的技术路径”专业文章。碳减排是水泥行业所必须要面对和解决的课题。碳减排一是如何减;二是如何计算减。这就需要明白碳来源、数值,潜在减排空间大小。减排不能只盯通用水泥,要从发展低碳胶凝材料更宽视野研究减排主要方向和技术路径。与此同时,需要碳减排数据正确,并具可比性,即俗称口径一致,以正确计算减排了多少和客观评价减排效果。作者所提观点值得业内外参考。


水泥工业是世界第三大能源消耗行业,占据工业能源消耗的7%,也是世界第二大CO2排放行业,占全球CO2排放的7%[1]。我国水泥工业2020年碳排放约12.3亿吨,约占建材工业的84.3%[2],约占全国的13.5%。水泥工业是我国工业全面实现碳减排的关键产业,对我国实现碳中和目标影响重大。

水泥工业的碳排放主要来源是生产电耗、燃料燃烧和原材料碳酸盐分解[3-9]。按照水泥单位产品能源消耗限额的现行国家标准[10,11]先进值计算[12,13]可比水泥的CO2排放约为675kg/t。其中,生产电耗间接排放的CO2占10.82%,燃料燃烧直接排放的CO2占31.45%,原材料碳酸盐分解直接排放的CO2占57.73%。水泥综合电耗、熟料标准煤耗取GB 16780-2012《水泥单位产品能源消耗限额》先进指标上限值,分别为103 kgce/t、85 kW·h/t,水泥中熟料占比取0.75;熟料工艺排放CO2按照政府间气候变化专门委员会(IPCC)默认值(5000t/d生产线吨熟料工艺排放CO2取520kg);电力排放因子和标煤排放因子按照HJ2519-2012《环境标志产品技术要求水泥》,分别取值0.86kg/kW·h和2.75t/t。计算如下:Q可比水泥=0.75×2.75×103+0.86×85+0.75×520≈675kg/t。未考虑余热发电、余热利用、替代燃料等CO2减排,未考虑钙质替代原料和介质原料非碳酸盐形式存在的CaO因素,未计算生料有机碳和水泥窑粉尘煅烧排放的CO2

针对水泥工业的碳排放主要来源,碳减排技术路径主要有提高工艺水平、使用替代燃料、降低熟料系数、降低原材料碳酸盐分解排放的CO2等方面,其潜在的减排空间也不尽相同。

1.提高工艺技术水平,降低水泥单位能耗

自上世纪八十年代以来,我国水泥工艺技术水平不断提升,水泥单位能耗不断降低[5,14]。表1是我国GB16780《水泥单位产品能源消耗限额》2007版和2012版的水泥单位产品能耗先进值,联合国《水泥工业低碳转型技术路线图》2050年全世界指标值[1,4],以及当前我国5000t/d生产线先进值的对比。按照GB16780《水泥单位产品能源消耗限额》,使用“可比熟料”、“可比水泥”能耗值的相关计算才具有可比性,因此,本文中熟料和水泥的CO2排放值都按此原则计算。

由表1可见,可比水泥综合能耗GB 16780-2012比GB 16780-2007降低了约5.4%,减少水泥CO2排放的贡献率为2.07%;当前5000t/d先进值相比GB 16780-2012降低约4.5%,减少水泥CO2排放的贡献率为1.72%。水泥单位产品能耗指标的进步体现了水泥工艺装备技术的进步,也反应了工艺装备技术对水泥碳排放的贡献程度。进一步通过节能技术改造和加强节能管理,推动我国水泥企业普遍达到《水泥单位产品能源消耗限额》标准要求十分必要。同时,也应清楚的认识到我国当前水泥工艺技术水平已经远超世界平均水平,通过降低水泥综合能耗来降低水泥CO2排放的空间不大[4,15]

2.使用替代燃料,降低化石燃料

水泥生产过程中可以使用替代燃料来减少CO2的排放,替代燃料可以分为固态替代燃料、液态替代燃料和气态替代燃料。固态替代燃料主要有木屑、塑料、农业残余物、废弃轮胎、石油焦等;液态替代燃料主要有矿物油、液压油等;气态替代燃料主要有焦炉气、炼油气、裂解气、埋填的废物产生的气体等[16,17]。废油、废轮胎、污泥等用作替代燃料较为普遍,其中,废油热值最高、碳排放因子最低。按照HJ2519-2012《环境标志产品技术要求水泥》,废油CO2排放因子取值0.074kg/MJ,废轮胎CO2排放因子取值0.085kg/MJ,烘干污泥CO2排放因子取值0.11kg/MJ,熟料综合热耗按GB 16780-2012先进限值3019kJ/kg计算,当熟料烧成对煤所需热值替代率达到联合国《水泥工业低碳转型技术路线图》2050年30%的要求时,分别能够降低熟料燃料燃烧CO2排放6.34%、2.82%和-5.17%,降低水泥CO2排放1.99%、0.89%和-1.63%;当热值替代率达到我国2050年70%的要求时,分别能够降低熟料燃料燃烧CO2排放14.80%、6.59%和-12.06%,降低水泥CO2排放4.65%、2.07%和-3.79%。我国目前替代燃料使用率约1.2%[4],替代燃料发展空间较大。但污泥、木材、生活垃圾等发热量低,CO2排放因子高,反而会增加水泥的CO2排放。如果不考虑替代燃料自身的CO2排放,只考虑对化石燃料的替代减排,则减排效果十分显著。

3.提高熟料质量,降低熟料系数

在保证相同水泥性能的条件下,熟料质量越好,掺入的混合材可以越多。而当混合材用量增加1%时,水泥熟料用量就可减少1%。根据GB 16780-2012《水泥单位产品能源消耗限额》水泥单位产品能耗先进值,如果水泥中熟料占比超过或低于75%,每增减1%,水泥综合能耗先进值应增减1.10kgce/t,由此简便计算可使水泥减少CO2排放1.22%。但是现代水泥生产技术十分成熟,熟料质量提升空间有限[4,15],因此,对水泥碳减排作用很小。通过其他技术提高水泥中混合材的掺加量,单从水泥行业的角度看是降低了熟料使用量,减少了水泥的CO2排放,但是从水泥的全生命周期来看,同等条件下会降低混凝土掺合料的用量,增加水泥用量,实际上并未减少单位工程用水泥的CO2排放。

4.降低原材料碳酸盐分解的CO2排放

4.1使用钙质替代原料

水泥生产中碳酸盐分解产生57.73%的CO2,用钙质工业固废来替代石灰石可以显著减少碳酸盐分解排放。通常可利用的工业固废有电石渣、高炉矿渣、钢渣及粉煤灰等。当水泥生料中添加了60%的电石渣替代石灰石,单位熟料CO2排放减少227.5kg,减排约43.11%,折合水泥减排约24.89%;当生料中添加3.98%的钢渣替代石灰石,单位熟料CO2排放减少4.4kg,并且煤耗降低3公斤[15],综合减排2.33%,折合水泥减排约1.35%。

欧洲水泥协会预计2030年使用钙质替代原料可以减少CO2排放3.5%,到2050年将减少8%[17]。由此可见,使用钙质替代原料能够显著的减少CO2排放,具有较大的推广应用空间。但钙质替代原料存在来源不足,成份不稳定,且对水泥质量有影响等问题。

4.2发展低碳胶凝材料

硅酸盐水泥具有高能耗、高温室气体(CO2)排放的缺陷,且随着世界各国经济和基建的不断发展,水泥需用量逐年增加,对地球生态环境和气候变化的负面作用逐渐明显[5],发展低碳胶凝材料体系,科学的部分取代硅酸盐水泥十分必要。低碳胶凝材料主要有低钙水泥、低熟料水泥和碱激发材料等。低钙水泥体系主要有高贝利特硅酸盐水泥、硫(铁)铝酸盐水泥和铝酸盐水泥等,不同水泥体系具有不同的熟料矿物组成,常见熟料矿物形成时碳酸盐分解的CO2排放差别明显,见表2。铝酸盐水泥主要用于耐火材料不能普遍应用于建筑工程,本文不作对比分析。

(1)高贝利特硅酸盐水泥

高贝利特硅酸盐水泥(低热硅酸盐水泥)相对普通硅酸盐水泥碳排放更低。按照GB200-2003《中热硅酸盐水泥低热硅酸盐水泥低热矿渣硅酸盐水泥》,高贝利特硅酸盐水泥的C2S含量应不小于40%,通常为(40~55)%,C2S含量越高熟料碳酸盐分解CO2排放越低,典型值按实际工厂控制值50%计,则高贝利特硅酸盐水泥相对普通硅酸盐水泥降低熟料碳酸盐分解CO2排放约8%,降低水泥的CO2排放约4.6%,见表3。高贝利特硅酸盐水泥比普通硅酸盐水泥烧成温度也低(50~100)℃,还能够降低燃料燃烧直接排放的CO2。高贝利特硅酸盐水泥于2006年获国家技术发明二等奖,它水泥具有水化热低的突出优点,但也存在早期强度低的缺点,目前主要应用于大坝工程(超大体积混凝土)。

(2)硫(铁)铝酸盐水泥

硫(铁)铝酸盐水泥具有显著的低碳特点。硫(铁)铝酸盐水泥熟料中不含高钙矿物C3S,生料中石灰石等钙质原料配入量比硅酸盐水泥约低30%,烧成温度比硅酸盐水泥低(100~150)℃[18,19],因此,它的熟料烧成过程中自身碳酸盐分解直接排放的CO2要比硅酸盐水泥约低40%(见表3),同等工艺条件下,燃料燃烧直接排放的CO2要比硅酸盐水泥约低30%,水泥CO2减排约35%。

硫(铁)铝酸盐水泥是我国自主发明的水泥品种,它包括硫铝酸盐水泥和铁铝酸盐水泥两个系列,上世纪八十年代曾分别获得两项国家发明二等奖。我国是世界上唯一连续工业化生产硫(铁)铝酸盐水泥的国家。硫(铁)铝酸盐水泥具有快硬、早强、高强、抗冻、抗渗、耐腐蚀、耐磨等优异性能,近40年的海堤、码头、市政桥梁、高层商业建筑等工程实例表明,它可以普遍应用于各种工程建设,特别适合海洋和盐碱等腐蚀环境工程、低温环境工程、抢修抢建工程以及免蒸养混凝土部品部件等领域的应用。但是硫(铁)铝酸盐水泥的最大问题是主要原材料之一铝矾土没有硅酸水泥的粘土那样普遍,它的成本是硅酸盐水泥的1.5~2倍。但是硫(铁)铝酸盐水泥可以使用硅酸盐水泥不能用的含铝、含硫、含铁的工业废渣作为原材料,这不但可以大幅度降低原材料的成本,而且解决了许多工业固废资源化利用的问题,对我国发展循环经济具有重要的意义。

(3)碱激发材料

碱激发材料是指不用或使用少量水泥熟料,主要由铝质或硅质固体原料(如粒化高炉矿渣、粉煤灰、火山灰、钢渣等)和碱激发剂,按比例直接混合磨细而成的具有一定水硬性的胶凝材料[20,21]。相比硅酸盐水泥,碱激发材料的CO2排放降低了约80%[19]。碱激发材料具有显著的资源化利用工业废渣的优势,特别是目前水泥混凝土不能使用的工业废渣,但是碱激发材料普遍存在凝结时间短,早期强度低,抗冻性较差,易风化,不宜长期贮存等问题,并且激发条件对需水量很敏感,以及多数碱激发剂具有高腐蚀性等。碱激发材料可用于地下、水中和潮湿环境中的一般性工程,以及市政道路等基础设施建设;不适用于冻融交替频繁、要求早期强度较高、长期处于干燥地区的建筑工程[17]。因此,基于碱激发材料CO2排放低和利用工业废渣的特点,在特定的辅助性工程中合理的推广应用碱激发材料具有较大的意义。

5.结论和展望

水泥工业碳减排的主要技术路径有:降低生产能耗、使用替代燃料、提高熟料质量和降低原材料碳酸盐分解的排放量。从当前到2050年各技术路径减排空间如下:

(1)提升工艺技术水平,降低水泥单位能耗,预计能够减少水泥CO2排放(1~3)%。

(2)使用替代燃料,降低化石燃料的CO2排放,折合到水泥可降低CO2排放高达20%以上。若计算替代燃料自身的CO2排放,则对水泥CO2减排的空间小于5%;使用低热值、高排放因子的替代燃料反而会增加水泥的CO2排放。

(3)提高熟料质量,降低熟料系数,可以减少水泥CO2排放(1~3)%。不是基于熟料自身质量的提高而降低熟料系数,从水泥全生命周期看,对碳减排没有贡献。

(4)使用钙质替代原料能够显著的减少CO2排放,可以减少水泥CO2排放8%以上,但存在来源不足、对水泥质量有影响等问题。

(5)在大体积混凝土中推广应用高贝利特硅酸盐水泥,相对于使用普通水泥可以减少CO2排放(5~10)%。

(6)在海洋工程、部品部件等应用领域中普遍推广应用硫(铁)铝酸盐水泥,相对于使用普通水泥可以减少CO2排放(30~40)%。

(7)在限定的辅助工程中推广应用碱激发材料,可以减少水泥用量,从而减少水泥工业的CO2排放。

综上所述,降低原材料碳酸盐分解产生的CO2排放是水泥工业最有效的碳减排技术路径。发展低碳胶凝材料是水泥工业减少CO2排放的主要方向。硫(铁)铝酸盐水泥是工程应用前景最好,CO2减排效果极为显著的低碳水泥品种。根据水泥的具体工程使用环境,科学、合理的发展和使用不同水泥品种和胶凝材料对水泥工业的碳减排具有重要的意义。
