Will overproduction necessarily increase the total amount of pollutants, energy consumption and carbon emissions?

If enterprises can produce more clinker within the approved total amount of pollutants and energy consumption, it shows that the level of pollutant prevention and control and energy efficiency of enterprises is better, and such enterprises should be encouraged to overproduce.

Recently, there has been a lot of controversy about the overproduction of cement production lines in the industry, and many people believe that cement production lines should be produced strictly in accordance with the approved production capacity. In this regard, I will briefly talk about my own views. The argument

against overproduction focuses on one point, that is, " clinker output is the product of production line operation days and kiln output, while the total amount of pollutants, energy consumption and carbon emissions are positively correlated with clinker output". Environmental impact assessment and energy conservation review are based on the approval of production capacity, and overproduction is suspected of "violating laws and regulations such as the Law of the People's Republic of China on Environmental Impact Assessment and the Measures for Energy Conservation Review of Fixed Assets Investment Projects".

So will overproduction necessarily lead to an increase in total pollutant emissions, total energy consumption and total carbon emissions?

Cement is a resource-consuming industry, and environmental assessment and energy-saving review limit the total amount of resources and energy that an enterprise can consume, which is also true, but overproduction does not mean higher pollutant emissions, energy consumption and carbon emissions . On the contrary, it may be a more efficient use of resources. In terms of

environmental protection, in recent years, domestic cement enterprises have continuously strengthened the control of pollutants, and many enterprises have achieved ultra-low emissions; in terms of energy consumption, the promotion of energy-saving technology transformation has also greatly reduced the energy consumption of clinker production.

As for the total amount of carbon emissions, it has little to do with overproduction. Cement as a "rigid demand" product, whether the enterprise produces or not, the total demand is certain, you do not produce, naturally someone else produces , as long as the production, based on the cement production process, will produce carbon dioxide.

Therefore, I personally believe that the total amount of pollutants, energy consumption and carbon emissions are not necessarily positively correlated with clinker production, and overproduction does not necessarily lead to an increase in the above three indicators.

On the contrary, if the enterprise can produce more clinker within the approved total amount of pollutants and energy consumption, it shows that the level of pollutant prevention and control and energy efficiency of the enterprise is better . & nbsp;

Recently, due to the persistent cost pressure in the south, the price of concrete has risen slightly with the raw materials, but the growth of market demand is limited, and the overall quotation is still stable. From October 31 to November 6, the national concrete price index closed at 112.47 points, up 0.31% annually and down 10.11% year-on-year.
