On May 30, the official website of China Electric Power Construction announced that recently, the temporary construction project of Saudi Saida Wei 2GW photovoltaic project contracted by the 12th Bureau of Hydropower was officially started .
The project is located in Saidawi Town, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, and the construction contents include the owner's office area, EPC office area and living area, labor camp and other supporting facilities.
On May 18, the 12th Bureau of Hydropower formally signed a contract with Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. According to the contract arrangement, the project started on May 24. At present, site leveling, pipe trench excavation and camp fencing operations have been carried out in an all-round way, and site construction is progressing in an orderly manner.
Earlier, on April 10, Shanghai Electric and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (MASDAR) signed a cooperation agreement on Saudi Al-Sadawi 2GW photovoltaic project in Shanghai. This project is the largest photovoltaic EPC project undertaken by Shanghai Electric so far.
Saidawi Photovoltaic Project is part of the fifth round of Saudi National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), located in eastern Saudi Arabia, covering an area of about 40 square kilometers, equivalent to about 5700 standard football fields. After
completion, the project is expected to provide more than 6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually to meet the electricity demand of more than 700000 households, while reducing carbon emissions by 3 million tons.
