Kyrgyzstan, the country's cement imports increased significantly from January to September 2025, reaching nearly 800000 tons, doubling from the same period last year. This growth reflects the strong demand for cement in the domestic market.
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are the most important cement suppliers to Kyrgyzstan. Among them, Kazakhstan's supply is 304000 tons, and Uzbekistan's supply is even higher, reaching 468000 tons, which together constitute the main source of imports. The growth rate of
imports exceeded that of imports. In the same period, the total import volume of cement climbed to 58 million US dollars, an increase of 2.4 times. This phenomenon is closely related to the rise in the unit price of imported cement, especially the rise in the price of Kazakh cement from $54 to $64 per ton, which directly pushes up the total cost of imports. In terms of
domestic production, the local cement industry in Kyrgyzstan has also shown a strong momentum of development. In the first nine months of 2025, domestic cement production reached 3.1 million tons, up 29.3% year-on-year. This shows that while imports are growing, domestic production capacity is also rising rapidly to meet the expanding market demand.
