According to the latest news from Trina Solar USA, on August 23 , the first batch of silicon wafers were loaded and unloaded from the production line of the plant in Taiyuan, Vietnam, 80 kilometers north of Hanoi. The design capacity of the new plant is 6.5G W.
In addition to 6.5G W wafer capacity, the data show that the plant also has 4GW battery capacity and 5GW module capacity.

in December 2022, the U.S. Ministry of Commerce initially ruled that solar cells and modules imported from Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Thailand may be subject to anti-dumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) regulations on cells and modules imported from China. Then in January, Trina Solar announced the construction of a new factory in Vietnam.
According to the production schedule, the new company turned on the green light on July 31, the first 12-inch monocrystalline silicon rod was offline on August 4, and the first batch of silicon wafers were offline on August 23. "The wafers produced will be used primarily for the production of cells and modules at Trina Solar's facilities in Vietnam and Thailand, including Trina Solar's supply to the U.S. market," the company said.
