On June 17, Shenzhen Romas Technology Co., Ltd. announced that it would recall some Romas ROMOSS mobile power supplies manufactured from June 5, 2023 to July 31, 2024, involving some PAC20-272, PAC20-392 and PLT20A-152 models. The total number of three products is 491745.
In response to the reasons for the recall, Romas said that due to the incoming raw materials of some batteries, a very small number of products may be overheated during use, which may cause combustion risks in extreme scenarios, and there are potential safety hazards. It was
also reported that on March 20, an A320 passenger plane originally scheduled to fly from Hangzhou to Hong Kong was diverted to Changle Airport in Fuzhou at 1:56 p.m. on the same day due to a fire in the cabin.
The French Air Accident Investigation Bureau said the accident was caused by a thermal runaway of the power bank, which has been confirmed to be a Romas brand device with a rated capacity of 20000 mAh.
