According to the implementation of Argentina's national public administration budget from January to October 2024 issued by the Argentine Political and Economic Center (CEPA), Argentina's transport and public works organizations were almost paralyzed, with the Ministry of Public Works falling by 94%, the National Road Bureau by 78%, and the Ministry of Transport by 66%. The regulatory agencies of the transport system have declined by 20-45%. The braking of
public works has led to a severe recession in the construction industry, and cement, as a basic building material, has suffered from it. According to the latest data of Argentine Cement Association AFCP, Argentina's cement consumption in October 2024 was 901,000 tons, down 19.9% year-on-year, and the cumulative cement consumption from January to October was 7.865 million tons, down 26.3% year-on-year. Demand has fallen, and cement and clinker production has been greatly reduced. In the first 10 months of 2024, Argentina produced 5.551 million tons of clinker, a year-on-year decrease of 28.36%, and 7.874 million tons of cement, a year-on-year decrease of 26.26%.
