The Bolivian cement market experienced a significant contraction at the start of 2026. According to data released by Bolivia's National Bureau of Statistics, the national cement demand in January this year was only 298300 tons, down 8.2% from 325200 tons in the same period last year, indicating a significant slowdown in construction industry activity at the beginning of the year. The
main consumer markets in China are showing a serious trend of differentiation. As the largest cement consumption market in Bolivia, the demand in Cochabamba in January was 102,200 tons, with a slight decrease of 3.6% compared with the same period last year; while the demand in Santa Cruz, the second largest market, rose against the trend, with a year-on-year increase of 10.1% to 75,500 tons, becoming the key force to support the national market. This comparison of one drop and one increase reflects the significant differences in the pace of infrastructure construction among different regions.
