It belongs to the Red River system. Its geographical coordinates are 101 ° 32 ′ 33 ″ east longitude and 23 ° 58 ′ 37 ″ north latitude. The catchment area above the dam site of the reservoir is 36.2km ², and the average annual runoff is 3586. The normal storage level of the reservoir is 1947.00 m, the dead water level is 1899.50 m, the design flood level is 1949.65 m, and the check flood level is 1950. The total storage capacity of the reservoir is 10.644 million m ³, and the beneficial storage capacity is 8.774 million m ³. The dead storage capacity is 66.
