Academician Liu Jiaping's Team Releases the First Large Model of Concrete Material Science in China- "Concrete True Concrete Knowledge"

On February 1, the first meeting of the National Key Laboratory Council of Major Infrastructure Engineering Materials in 2026 and the Academic Committee in 2025 were held in Nanjing. On the spot, the team of Academician Liu Jiaping, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Southeast University, released the first large model of concrete materials science in China- "Concrete True Concrete Knowledge". The model was jointly built by the laboratory, the Big Data Center of Southeast University and Aliyun Computing Co., Ltd. and has been applied to the construction project of Nanjing North Railway Station.

concrete is vulnerable to environmental factors such as seasonal changes and fluctuations in raw materials, while the "concrete real concrete knowledge" model can integrate a variety of factors into the calculation framework, significantly improving the accuracy of concrete performance prediction. The large model builds an open agent square, launches three core agents, namely, performance prediction, proportioning design and cracking risk assessment, and realizes the end-to-end closed-loop from parameter input to scheme generation through the collaboration of "large model + small model", so as to "from performance target to optimal formula" and "from structural parameters to cracking risk assessment". It provides standardized and high-precision quantitative decision-making tools to fill the technical gap in the field of intelligent design of concrete materials.

Compared with the "illusion" and uncertainty of the general big model in the professional field, the "concrete real concrete knowledge" big model builds the core competitiveness with "deep specialization". It can not only realize expert-level and traceable intelligent question-and-answer, accurately answer complex problems in research and development, design and engineering application of concrete materials, but also integrate four knowledge processing tools, namely, intelligent data extraction, d ata multi-dimensional comparison, literature review generation and knowledge map construction, to complete the traditional literature research that takes days or even months. It greatly liberates the productivity of scientific research and engineering personnel.

"The big model gathers human wisdom into the'wisdom brain 'and changes the past experience-based design method!" Liu Jiaping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chief professor of Southeast University, introduced that the large model has been applied in the construction project of Nanjing North Railway Station. In the design of raw materials, the large model can help match low-carbon concrete materials. In the construction process, workers can use the large model to predict the development of strength, durability and other properties in the next few hours according to the temperature and humidity of Nanjing at that time. "For example, when the temperature is high during the day and low at night, the large model will automatically regulate the mix proportion of raw materials, even under changing external factors, the performance of concrete can remain unchanged." conference site of Liu Jiaping, academician of

the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chief professor of Southeast University, the laboratory signed an agreement with several cooperative units to jointly tackle key problems of agents, so as to unite efforts for the follow-up iteration of the model and the landing of the industry. In the future, the college team plans to continue to improve the model itself, develop more special "agents" for different needs, and promote the deep integration of the model with production and construction equipment, realize real-time perception and automatic control of the whole process from material proportioning to on-site vibration and maintenance, and promote the fundamental change of concrete design methods. We will continue to contribute to the high-quality development of China's infrastructure and the self-reliance of science and technology.
