2025, Peru's cement market continued its strong growth momentum, with the national cement shipment volume increasing by 11.4% year-on-year to 1.165 million tons, compared with 1.046 million tons in the same period last year. Among them, the shipments of member enterprises of the association increased from 939000 tons to 1.03 million tons, occupying a dominant position in the market, reflecting a significant increase in the operational activity of major producers.
In November, domestic cement production increased by 13% year-on-year to 1.075 million tons, compared with 951,000 tons in the same period last year. Clinker production increased even more significantly, with a year-on-year surge of 25% to 765,000 tons, much higher than 612,000 tons in the same period last year, indicating that the production capacity of enterprises has been fully released and the production efficiency has been substantially improved.
Foreign trade showed obvious structural differentiation characteristics
, cement exports fell slightly, down 3.4% year-on-year to 12,700 tons, but clinker exports showed strong performance, up 51.9% year-on-year to 109,200 tons, becoming the main driving force for foreign trade growth. Imports contracted sharply, with cement imports plunging 87.8% year-on-year to 8000 tons, all from Chile, and the average CIF price of Tacha was $130 per ton, up 2.8% year-on-year. Clinker imports also showed a downward trend, with a year-on-year decrease of 39.6% to 85,000 tons, of which South Korea accounted for 50.4%, Ecuador accounted for 49.6%, and the average CIF price of Callao Port was 51 US dollars per ton, down 10.2% year-on-year.
On the whole, Peru's cement market is currently in the stage of strong domestic demand and enhanced independent supply capacity. The growth rate of output is higher than that of sales volume, the import volume decreases sharply while the export volume increases, especially the sharp contrast between the import and export of clinker, which indicates that the self-sufficiency rate of domestic industry has increased significantly, the dependence of the market on the outside has decreased significantly, and the development of the industry has entered a virtuous circle.
