Brazil, is confident about the future of the construction industry. Recently, Cimento Itamb Itambé completed the commissioning of a new cement kiln at the Balsanova plant in the Curitiba metropolitan area at a cost of R 500 million. The operation of the
new kiln has increased the annual cement production capacity of the plant by 600000 tons, and the total production capacity of the company has reached 3 million tons per year. Alexandre Capella Andrade (Alexander Capela Andras), managing director of Cimento Itamb Itambé, emphasized, "the new equipment not only increases our production capacity, but also demonstrates our commitment to producing high-quality cement, while driving innovation and sustainable development in the industry." This is the core pillar of our corporate action.
The new kiln excels in energy efficiency. According to F Fábio Garcia, the industrial director of Cimento Itamb Itambé, the new kiln uses the most advanced equipment and accessories on the market, setting a record for the rate of heat substitution in the Americas, and its thermal and electrical energy consumption is world-class. By using alternative fuels, the new kiln is able to reduce the use of fossil fuels by up to 65%. Industrial processes are fully automated
throughout the plant, which not only ensures strict control of product quality, but also improves operational safety and energy efficiency. "This new kiln is more than just a technological advance," Andrade said. "It reflects our mission to grow responsibly, innovate in a way that respects the environment, and be socially and environmentally responsible." Marcio Lobo, commercial director
of Cimento Itamb Itambé, noted that the new kiln further solidifies the company's commitment to provide products with stable technical specifications and sufficient supply to meet the growing demand of the construction market. As a benchmark for quality and efficiency in Brazil, Cimento Itamb Itambé maintains its decision-making and investment center in the state of Paraná. The capacity expansion further strengthens Itamb Itambé's position as a major cement supplier in southern Brazil. "This expansion gives us greater ability to meet the cement needs of our customers and markets in areas such as infrastructure, housing and road paving." Lobo added.
Sustainability is one of the key competitive advantages of the project. The new kilns are designed to use alternative and renewable fuels, such as biomass and industrial waste, to replace fossil fuels. This measure directly contributes to reducing carbon dioxide emissions and improving the energy efficiency of the plant.
The company uses alternative fuels, significantly reducing CO2 emissions. In addition, through the co-processing of industrial waste, Itamb Itambé processes about 168,000 tons of waste per year, helping to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.
