Recently, Russia plans to resume the compulsory certification system for imported cement to deal with the problem of low-quality cement from overseas and protect the domestic cement market. Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov gave instructions at the building materials industry development conference, asking relevant departments to consider resuming compulsory certification of imported cement to ensure that imported products meet Russian standards and safety requirements.
At the same time, Russia will also expand its domestic cement production scale. It is expected that by the end of 2026, Russia will launch four large-scale investment projects to increase the annual cement production capacity by 2.7 million tons. The total investment in these projects is expected to exceed 20 billion rubles. In addition, Manturov asked for an analysis of the economic feasibility of cement concrete technology in road construction and a comparison of housing construction plans until 2027 with cement production needs.
