In September, the production of major energy products in industries above designated size maintained a year-on-year growth. Compared with August, the production of raw coal and crude oil slowed down, while the production of natural gas and electricity accelerated.
1. Production of raw coal, crude oil and natural gas and related situations
Raw coal production remained stable and imports grew rapidly. In September, 390 million tons of raw coal were produced, up 0.4% year-on-year, 1.6 percentage points slower than in August, with an average daily output of 13.1 million tons. Coal imports were 42.14 million tons, up 27.8% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 23.0 percentage points lower than that in August.
From January to September, 3.44 billion tons of raw coal were produced, up 3.0% over the same period last year. Coal imports 350 million tons, an increase of 73.1% over the same period.
Crude oil production grew steadily and imports grew rapidly. In September, crude oil production was 16.87 million tons, up 0.3% year-on-year, 2.8 percentage points slower than in August, with an average daily output of 562,000 tons. Crude oil imports were 45.74 million tons, up 13.7% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 17.2 percentage points lower than that in August.

Imports of natural gas were 10.15 million tons, up 0.4% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 22.6 percentage points lower than that in August.
From January to September, 170.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, up 6.4% over the same period last year. Imports of natural gas 87 million 770 thousand tons, an increase of 8.2% over the same period.
2. Power production
The growth rate of power production is accelerating. From January to September, power generation was 6,621.9 billion kwh, up 4.2% year-on-year.
In terms of varieties, in September, the growth rate of thermal power changed from decline to increase, the growth rate of hydropower and nuclear power accelerated, the decline rate of wind power narrowed, and the growth rate of solar power fell.
