Recently, the General Administration of Customs released the import and export data of inverters in October 2023. According to the customs data,
the export volume of inverters in October 2023 was 3.1107 million, down 28.7% year-on-year and 20.4% month-on-month; The import volume was 2.271 million, up 0.7% year-on-year and 21.9% year-on-year. From January to October
2023, the total export volume was 44.5285 million, an increase of 12.66% over the same period last year.
In terms of provinces, Guangdong exported 1.0303 million, down 41.36% year-on-year and 25.18% year-on-year, with major enterprises including Huawei, Guruiwatt, First Airlines New Energy, Keshida and Hopewind;
Zhejiang's total exports were 1.3527 million, down 23.75% year-on-year and 22.02% year-on-year, with major enterprises including Jinlang, Deye, Hemai, Yuneng and Arrow;
Jiangsu exports a total of 245 thousand and 400, an increase of 5.34%, a decrease of 10.3%, the main enterprises include Goodway, Shangneng Electric, Aishiwei;
Anhui exports a total of 49 thousand and 300, down 62.19%, down 8.27%, the main enterprises are the domestic base of Sunshine Power Supply and Goodway Guangde Factory. Compared with the previous month, the export volume of the provinces where the
major inverter enterprises are located has declined on a month-on-month basis, due to the small overall export base in October, the slowdown of overseas installation in winter, the serious accumulation of household energy storage and photovoltaic inverters in the European region, and the limited shipment of enterprises focusing on small industrial and commercial users and household models.
At the same time, as the fourth quarter is the peak of domestic rush installation, the demand for procurement and delivery is strong, the proportion of domestic shipments of inverter enterprises has increased, and the proportion of overseas exports has decreased relatively.
According to the corresponding export countries, the inverter was exported to 184 countries and regions in October 2023. A total of 539 thousand and 800 units were exported
to Europe, accounting for 17.35%, down 43.86%. A total of 748000 units were exported
to Africa, accounting for 24.05%, down 25.2% from the previous month. The export volume of the
top ten countries totaled 1 million 252 thousand and 300, accounting for 40.26%. The top five
export countries are the United States, Tanzania, the Netherlands, Australia and Germany.
In October, the export volume of the United States was 284,100, with a month-on-month decrease of 17.21% and a year-on-year decrease of 30.41%; the export volume of Tanzania was 162,500, with a month-on-month increase of 180.59% and a year-on-year increase of 96.24%; The export trade volume of the Netherlands was 154,900, with a month-on-month decrease of 53.49% and a year-on-year decrease of 80.69%; the export trade volume of Australia was 112,600, with a month-on-month increase of 50.54% and a year-on-year increase of 17.68%; the export trade volume of Germany was 101,900, with a month-on-month decrease of 54.26% and a year-on-year decrease of 60.49%. In the European market
in October, the growth rate of two major photovoltaic importers, the Netherlands and Germany, continued to decline.
As Europe hoarded in the first half of the year in response to the sudden burst of demand, inventory digestion in the European region has been ongoing since the third quarter.
In September, the inventory of centralized PV inverters and industrial and commercial string PV inverters was largely digested, and since the end of September, new shipments have been added, and the inventory of household PV inverters and energy storage converters is relatively more.
In theory, the inverter inventory will be roughly digested by the end of this year, and there will be new order demand.
But in fact, Europe is about to enter the winter, the installation has entered the off-season, some manufacturers have high household inventory, greater pressure, there are still concerns about the situation at the end of this year, may be expected to continue until the beginning of next year. European shipments in the fourth quarter of
this year are expected to continue to be affected by this.
Among the top ten import countries, Brazil, Tanzania, Togo and other countries performed better in emerging photovoltaic markets such as Africa and Latin America, with high import volume.
Australia's imports also showed a month-on-month increase in October.
As the southern hemisphere enters summer, the potential of rooftop photovoltaic power generation in Australia has been highlighted, and rooftop photovoltaic power generation can provide and meet at least half of the electricity demand in the Australian electricity market.
September-November is usually the peak of installation in Australia, and the current module price has dropped sharply, which has led to a sharp drop in the overall installation cost, which is good for the installation of rooftop photovoltaic in Australia.
