, 2026, local television news in Ohio reported that Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced that he had sued a solar energy company for selling products to Ohio customers. There are "high-pressure sales" means and false and misleading publicity .
The lawsuit against G3 Solar, a Utah-based residential solar company, has been filed in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas. According to the
complaint, G3 Solar made exaggerated promises about the energy-saving effect of solar power generation system in the sales process. It claims that it can significantly reduce the electricity bill of users, offset the expenditure of utilities, and bring long-term economic benefits.
Yost said consumers reported that the promise had not been fulfilled , with some saying that the actual power generation of the solar power system was much lower than the company had previously said. Jost bluntly said that this was a "serious exaggeration and misleading" of product capabilities.

G3 Solar was also accused of making false or misleading statements about the terms of the loan installment, which introduced consumers to lenders offering loans for 20 to 30 years. It also stipulates that if consumers fail to pay about 30% of the so-called "voluntary payment" after 18 months, the monthly payment will be raised accordingly. According to the complaint, the key condition was not clearly and fully informed during the sales process, resulting in widespread confusion among consumers about the true cost of the solar system.
"These consumers should have enjoyed the benefits of solar energy, but instead they were burned." Mr Jost said.
G3 Solar was also accused of misleading consumers about the conditions and use of federal tax credits , some of which were based on income levels. In fact, they are not eligible to claim the relevant tax credits.
Yost said the lawsuit would seek an injunction, an order to refund losses to consumers and a civil fine.
