Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) on September 4, recently, DEWA Managing Director and CEO Said Mohammed Thayer led a high-level delegation to China to explore ways to strengthen cooperation and strategic partnership between DEWA and Chinese enterprises in the field of renewable energy. The delegation also explored the exchange of global best practices in the field of solar and energy storage technologies to support Dubai's clean energy goals. During
his visit to China, Thayer and his delegation visited Huawei Headquarters, BYD Headquarters, Tesla Battery Energy Storage Factory, Sunshine Power Supply Factory and Zhongche Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute. Learn about best practices and technologies in areas such as photovoltaic solar panels, energy storage systems , artificial intelligence applications, smart solutions, and fourth industrial revolution technologies.
It is reported that DEWA, located in Dubai Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, is in the bidding stage of the seventh phase of the project, which will build 2G W photovoltaic solar power plant and 1.4G W/8g Wh battery energy storage system. After completion, the project will become one of the largest integrated optical storage projects in the world.
The visit supports DEWA's efforts to implement the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Strategy 2050, both of which aim to provide Dubai with 100% clean energy generation by 2050.
