On November 9, the official WeChat of Atlas announced that the company intends to invest in the construction of a solar wafer production base with an annual capacity of 5 gigawatts in Chunwuli, Thailand. This move marks another important milestone in the global solar energy industry layout of Atlas Sunshine Power Group.
It is reported that the new base will produce the most advanced N-type photovoltaic wafers with an annual production capacity of 5G W, which is expected to be put into operation in March 2024 to supply the production base of TOPCon cells in Thailand. With the full operation of Atlas' 5GW cell plant in Fiersonville, Indiana, USA in 2025, these silicon wafers will also become an important raw material for the plant.
Earlier, on August 6, Atlas Thailand's 8GW TOPCon battery was successfully put into production. On October 30, Atlas announced the launch of an annual 5G W high-efficiency N-type battery project in the United States, which is expected to be put into production by the end of 2025.
