on January 28, Volkswagen Group (USA) submitted a report to NHTSA due to the risk of battery fire, and planned to recall 44551 2023-2025 Volkswagen ID.4 models in two batches in the United States. The reason for the
recall is that the high-voltage battery core module may have manufacturing defects of electrode dislocation during a specific production period, which may cause battery fire in extreme cases.
It is reported that the two recalls involve the same supplier, SK Battery America (SK On), the problem components are high-voltage core modules, between 2024 and 2025, ID.4 in the United States at least five battery overheating incidents.
