On November 6, Geng Shuang , Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, refuted the groundless accusations made by the representative of the United States against China at the open meeting of the Security Council on climate and security.
At the Security Council meeting on the same day, the representative of the United States made two speeches, accusing China of huge carbon emissions, falsely claiming that China "gains economic advantages and pollutes the environment through improper means", and advocating that the United States environmental policy is "successful" and a "model" for all countries.
"Since the representative of the United States is not so implicit and has directly called the roll, I will no longer be implicit." Geng Shuang responded twice, refuting the groundless accusations made by the US representative against China.

Geng Shuang said that China is globally recognized as the country with the strongest will, the strongest action and the most remarkable effect in fulfilling its emission reduction commitments, and is the absolute activist in the global response to climate change. China has a population of 1.4 billion and its GDP is the second largest in the world. Over the years, China has contributed more than 30% annually to world economic growth. China's per capita carbon emissions are not at a high level in the world.
Geng Shuang pointed out that the United States, on the other hand , is the country with the largest cumulative greenhouse gas emissions in the world's history, and its per capita carbon emissions have always been at the highest level in the world. At the same time, the United States openly calls climate change the biggest fraud in human history, reverses history, withdraws from the Paris Agreement twice, seriously undermines the efforts of global climate governance, and has become the biggest obstacle to global cooperation on climate change.
"On the issue of climate change, I think everyone can see clearly who is taking action, who is shirking responsibility, who is seeking cooperation, and who is unreasonably stirring up trouble." Geng Shuang pointed out that in dealing with climate change, the international community needs solidarity and cooperation, not blame and blame.
