On July 23, according to foreign media reports, Zhengtai Xinneng, a subsidiary of Zhengtai Group Holdings, plans to invest $700 million ( about 5.01 billion yuan ) in its second solar cell module factory in Turkey, which will include cell and module manufacturing. Erc Ercüment Kaya, chairman
of Zhengtai Xinneng Turkey Branch, revealed that the company had completed its land acquisition in the Balaksir Industrial Park. Construction of the plant is expected to begin by the end of 2025.
The plant, located in the western Turkish city of Bal Balıkesir, will be built in two phases , with the first phase producing solar wafers and cells . Its annual production capacity will reach 3GW , and it is expected that by 2028, when the plant is fully put into operation , its production capacity will reach 5GW . And produce photovoltaic modules at the same time.
It is reported that Zhengtai has built a solar module factory with an annual production capacity of 1G W in Adana, southeastern Turkey.
Earlier on March 26, Zhengtai Xinneng had reached an agreement with Turkey to build a solar cell factory in Turkey, according to which Zhengtai Xinneng will build an advanced TOPCon battery production line .
