2023, CRH, an Irish building materials manufacturer, announced the acquisition of part of Buzzi Unicem, an Italian company, in Eastern Europe. Including its subsidiary Dyckerhoff's two cement plants "Warren Cement" and "South Cement" in Ukraine, the cement terminal in Kiev and the ready-mixed concrete production enterprises in Kiev, Odessa and Nikolayev regions. The Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee reviewed the acquisition agreement for nearly a year and approved it in September 2024, requiring CRH to transfer 25% -28% of its subsidiary "Dyckerhoff Cement Ukraine" to independent investors. The total amount of the acquisition amounted to 100 million euros, which was regarded as the second largest investment in Ukraine during the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
