At the level of photovoltaic market demand, Trina Solar said that domestic demand in the second half of this year will be significantly better than in the first half, and overseas demand is expected to continue to grow . The reason is that the domestic market in the second half of the year is the traditional peak season for photovoltaic installation. Driven by the grid-connected assessment at the end of the year, it is expected that the downstream purchasing enthusiasm will pick up and the industry demand is expected to improve. Overseas market demand is still growing steadily this year, and the annual installed capacity is expected to be 418 GW, which is higher than level in 2025. At the same time, with the easing of the US-Iran Strait of Hormuz issue, the overseas macro environment tends to be better .
Looking ahead to 2027 , Trina Solar believes that next year's photovoltaic demand is expected to continue to grow on the basis of this year. The reasons lie in the rise of global energy demand, the acceleration of energy transformation brought about by geopolitical changes, the increase of energy storage allocation rate and the deepening of the application of new energy in the power grid system; Although demand in the Middle East is affected by geopolitics, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America are still growing, and the industry as a whole shows a clear upward trend .
At the same time, Trina Solar disclosed that the profitability of the company's components is gradually recovering, and will gradually return to a reasonable profitability that meets the normative requirements in the future. With the landing of the new mandatory national standard for components next year, Trina Solar judges that the industry will eliminate about 20% of the production capacity of battery components.
In terms of new technology products, Trina Solar disclosed that the company's BC components are expected to start mass production in the second half of 2026. Perovskite tandem cells are expected to enter the stage of small-scale mass production from 2028 to 2029, and hundreds of megawatt pilot lines may be built from 2027 to 2028. GW-class production capacity will be achieved in 2029.
In addition, in terms of energy storage business, Trina Solar disclosed that the company's energy storage business accounted for more than 90% of overseas shipments in the first half of the year , with high-value markets such as Europe and Latin America making better profits. It accounted for more than half of the total shipments , and the overall gross profit margin of overseas energy storage remained at a high level. By the end of June 2026, the cumulative shipment of the company's global energy storage system has exceeded 25 GWh .
