Japan Predicts Construction Machine Sales Will Reach 2.6 Trillion Yen in 2008

In the second half of fiscal year 2007, due to the decrease in the number of public utilities construction and the implementation of the revised Japanese Building Standard Law, the market sales of four models were affected; But at the same time, the increase of private capital investment and the increase of overseas demand for second-hand equipment have led to the increase of export sales of second-hand construction machinery in Japan. Sales of six types of machinery have increased. The total sales in the second half of fiscal year 2007 are expected to be about 791.5 billion yen, an increase of 3% over the same period last year. It is expected that from the first half of fiscal year 2008, the revised Japanese Construction Standard Law will continue to reduce the sales of the five models, while with the increase of private capital investment and the beginning of the demand for the renewal of construction cranes, the sales of the five models will increase. It is estimated that the sales volume in the first half of fiscal year 2008 will be about 392.3 billion yen, with an increase of about 2%. Overseas market sales will break Japan's export record

In the context of the surge in overseas market demand in the second half of fiscal year 2007, exports were mainly large hydraulic excavators, with all 10 types of machines increasing by 18% over the same period last year, and export sales are expected to reach 822.1 billion yen. In 2007, export sales totaled more than 1.6 trillion yen, a sharp increase of 20% over the same period last year, achieving seven consecutive years of growth in overseas sales. It is expected that the first half of fiscal year 2008 will continue to maintain the same momentum of development, with sales of 10 types of machines, mainly hydraulic excavators, expected to grow by 13%, and sales will reach 894.7 billion yen. In the second half of fiscal year 2008, sales of 10 models will increase by 906.5 billion yen, an increase of 10% compared with the same period last year. Based on the above, it is estimated that the overseas export sales in fiscal year 2008 will exceed 1.8 trillion yen, an increase of 12% compared with the same period last year, achieving eight consecutive years of sustained growth and setting a record for the overseas export sales of Japanese construction machinery.
