   Japan's large construction machinery manufacturers have substantially increased their production capacity in China and are expected to surpass Japan as the world's second largest market for construction machinery and equipment by about 2010. China's demand for infrastructure has remained strong due to the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. After achieving such capacity, the capacity of the excavator is still insufficient. The company has begun to forecast the capacity needed for the new plant. Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (Hitachi ConstructionMachineryCo.) plans to spend 14 billion yen by 2010 to increase its hydraulic excavator production capacity to 15,000 units, thereby significantly expanding the capacity of its Anhui plant.
