New technology of concrete strengthen treatment developed in Japan

Japanese researchers have developed a new technology that can double the strength of concrete and save half the cost.

This new technology allows the inorganic aqueous solution containing silicon to infiltrate the surface of concrete, so that it reacts with calcium and magnesium in concrete, thus forming an insoluble crystal at room temperature. Because the small holes inside the crystal protective layer are blocked, rainwater and salt can not penetrate, which greatly delays the deterioration rate of concrete, thus helping to prolong the service life of buildings.
