On April 15, South Korean media reported that TerraSus, a subsidiary of OCI Holding, the leading polysilicon company in South Korea , was negotiating with SpaceX to sign a polysilicon supply contract. For its data center and satellite photovoltaic power supply, the contract is expected to last three to five years, with a scale of about 1 trillion won (about 4.62 billion yuan), and the details of the terms are currently being negotiated. As of press time, Space X had not replied, and a spokesperson for OCL Holding said it could not confirm the report. Shares of OCI-related companies rose sharply
on that day. Analysts at Samsung Securities said that in order to obtain subsidies from the Inflation Reduction Act, the incentive to purchase non-Chinese polysilicon is very strong.
Earlier, on March 20, it was reported that Tesla planned to spend $2.9 billion to purchase related production equipment from Chinese photovoltaic equipment companies. Maiwei shares, Jiejia Weichuang, Laplace and other Chinese photovoltaic equipment companies are potential suppliers.
