On June 5, the People's Government of the Autonomous Region, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the State Grid Corporation of China jointly completed the signing of the long-term cooperation agreement for the Kubuqi Power Transmission Project in Jiangsu Province, which laid a solid foundation for the early approval of the transmission channel and created favorable conditions for speeding up the construction of the supporting power supply base in an all-round way.

Kubuqi power transmission project in Jiangsu is a key trans-provincial and trans-regional power transmission project in the national "14th Five-Year" power development plan. The project starts in Hangjin Banner, Ordos City, and ends in Jiangning District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, with a total length of about 1800 kilometers and a designed transmission capacity of 8 million kilowatts. The total installed capacity of the supporting power supply base is 14.64 million kilowatts, including 8 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power , 4 million kilowatts of wind power and 2.64 million kilowatts of regulated coal-fired power, with a total investment of about 64.2 billion yuan. After the completion of the

project, a direct connection channel between Kubuqi Desert Base and East China Load Center will be set up to effectively realize the large-scale transmission of green power in the "Shagohuang" area of Western Inner Mongolia through the "integration of wind, solar, fire and storage" mode, which can transmit about 36 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to East China every year, of which new energy accounts for more than 60%. It will provide strong support for energy and power supply and green low-carbon transformation in East China, and help achieve the national "double carbon" goal on schedule. At the same time, it can drive hundreds of billions of investment, complete the ecological restoration area of 320000 mu, realize multiple benefits such as stimulating investment, promoting employment, expanding absorption and restoring ecology, and promote the efficient transformation of energy resources advantages into economic and social development advantages in the autonomous region.
