10, Tianqi Lithium Industry suddenly announced that its holding subsidiary Tylison, located in Australia, had a local fire during the overhaul of the third phase of the chemical grade lithium concentrate plant. The fire in the relevant areas had been extinguished in time and effectively. All on-site personnel had been evacuated safely and no injuries had been reported; Individual equipment in the factory was damaged, but the main equipment and production line were not affected.
As a holding subsidiary of Tianqi Lithium, Talison has the mining rights of Greenbushes Lithium Mine, the largest and highest-grade solid spodumene mine in the world. According to
the public information, Talison will produce 1.35 million tons of lithium concentrate in 2025; the designed annual capacity of the third phase of the project is 520,000 tons.
At the end of last year, the construction has been completed and formally commissioned, and the original plan is to complete the production capacity climbing in 2026.
Tianqi Lithium said that the sudden fire may affect the production progress of Talison Phase III project to a certain extent.
