On April 28, Spain experienced a massive power outage on the sixth consecutive day of 100% renewable energy operation, losing 15 GW of electricity in five seconds, affecting 60% of the country's demand, paralyzing transportation, airports and communications, and affecting neighboring countries. According to the
official investigation, the accident was caused by a sudden surge in voltage, while the grid operators did not respond in time, planned inadequately, failed to start thermal power regulation, and did not effectively absorb excessive voltage, leading to a chain reaction.
According to foreign media reports, Spain's distributed photovoltaic data statistics are missing, and the actual installed capacity is 10.5G W higher than official data, resulting in a sharp increase in the difficulty of system regulation.
In this regard, the local government said that the coordination and transparency of the power grid should be improved to avoid similar incidents.
