Saudi cement prices climbed to their highest level in nearly 12 years in April, with strong domestic demand the main driver. According to Arabic daily Al-Eqtisadia, the price of 50 kg cement bags in Saudi Arabia rose by about 1% in April compared with the same period last year, and the price of other construction materials also rose. Citing industry sources, the paper said the April increase in cement prices had brought prices to a 12-year high, mainly due to strong demand.
In addition, the rise in cement prices has been affected by other factors, including higher consumer prices due to higher production costs and the end of a long-standing price war among cement manufacturers. According to
the report, the average price of 50 kg cement bags in Saudi Arabia in April was about 14.5 Saudi riyals ( $3.8), and domestic demand surged by about 43% in that month, with a cumulative increase of nearly 13% since the beginning of 2025.
