Iran ranks sixth in the world in cement production. In the first half of 2024, Iran said that it would keep pace with developed countries, speed up infrastructure construction and urbanization, and increase cement production and sales simultaneously.
According to the Iranian Cement Association, from January to June 2024, Iran's cement consumption increased by 9.8% from 29.29 million tons in 2023 to 32.17 million tons, cement output was 33.898 million tons, an increase of 4.9% over the same period last year, and clinker output was 37.994 million tons. A year-on-year increase of 4.0%, a total of 6.954 million tons of cement and clinker exports, a year-on-year decrease of 5.2%, 2.505 million tons of cement exports, a year-on-year increase of 9.1%, 4.085 million tons of clinker exports, a year-on-year decrease of 12.3%.
