Inner Mongolia will start the sewage treatment project in an all-round way within this year

The sewage treatment process in Inner Mongolia has entered the fast lane. The reporter learned from the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Autonomous Region that by the end of 2007, all cities and counties with better basic conditions in the Autonomous Region should start the sewage treatment project and put it into operation by the end of 2008; other counties and towns should also start the project by the end of 2008.

In recent years, the resource-dependent industry in Inner Mongolia has developed rapidly, and the urbanization construction has achieved remarkable results, but the corresponding pollution to the environment has increased. For a long time, sewage treatment has not yet formed an effective system of construction, operation, charging and supervision. Urban sewage treatment plants "can not afford to build, difficult to operate", the number of industrial parks in the region is large, but only one sewage treatment system has been built. Most large and medium-sized enterprises have not built sewage treatment facilities, which has caused great hidden dangers to the normal operation of urban public sewage treatment plants.

According to its own actual situation, the government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has put forward the policy of implementing key projects, detailing and clarifying responsibilities, coordinating and co-constructing development, and establishing a long-term system: focusing on the construction of sewage treatment facilities in cities and towns, industrial parks, and large and medium-sized enterprises; Adhere to the principle of "synchronization of plant and network", consider the construction of drainage pipe network and urban development as a whole, implement them synchronously, strive to improve the sewage collection rate, and strictly implement the urban drainage supervision system. Enterprises that fail to meet the standards will be ordered to rectify within a time limit, stop production for rectification or even close down according to law; the collection of sewage charges will be strengthened, and sewage charges will be strictly levied on water supply enterprises that fail to collect and hand over sewage treatment fees in full according to the standards or on self-provided water source units that fail to hand over sewage treatment fees.

At the same time, the autonomous region, in accordance with the principle of separation of government and enterprise, speeds up the reform of sewage treatment operation system, and encourages investors with advanced technology and management experience, large water users and enterprises using reclaimed water to participate in the construction and operation of urban sewage treatment facilities. At the same time, those who fail to meet the sewage treatment standards or defraud sewage treatment fees should be severely punished.
