On April 21, under the joint guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Intellectual Property Office, the first patent pool in China's photovoltaic industry was officially launched in Beijing.
The patent pool is jointly sponsored by three leading enterprises, Trina Solar , Jingao Science and Technology and Jingke Energy, and jointly built by industrial chain enterprises, scientific research institutions and intellectual property service institutions. Adhering to the principles of openness, transparency, openness, inclusiveness, market-oriented operation, fairness and reasonableness, the patent pool covers patents related to TOPCon photovoltaic cells and components in China .
According to Chen Wei, deputy director of the Intellectual Property Operations Center of the Photovoltaic Manufacturing Industry, the industry's first joint photovoltaic industry patent pool has absorbed 54 Chinese patents around TOPCon battery and component technology .
It is reported that the establishment of a "cross-licensing within the pool and one-stop licensing outside the pool" mechanism in the patent pool will not only greatly reduce the risk of patent litigation for a single enterprise, but also build a large number of high-quality patents into a powerful "aircraft carrier formation" of technology. To provide strong intellectual property backing for China's photovoltaic enterprises to go to sea.
Industry insiders pointed out that the establishment of the patent pool indicates that China's photovoltaic industry is exploring ways to crack the "involution competition" through institutional innovation, while establishing an active coordination mechanism to cope with global market changes.
