On April 1, Tianzhi Material announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Jiujiang Tianzhi, had sued 12 parties, including Shenzhen Yanyi New Material Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Yanyi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Li Sheng, former chief engineer of Tianzhi Material, for trade secret infringement disputes, with claims amounting to 1.472 billion yuan.
This is not the first time that God-given material has thrown a heavy punch. In July 2025, Jiujiang Tianci sued another lithium hexafluorophosphate company, Yongtai Technology and its subsidiaries, Li Sheng and other 12 parties, claiming 887 million yuan for similar core technology leaks.
It is noteworthy that both cases involve Li Sheng, the former chief engineer of Tianzhi Materials, and the core trade secrets involved are the production technology of liquid lithium hexafluorophosphate and lithium difluorosulfonyl imide.
