On December 12, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the operation of the national photovoltaic manufacturing industry from September to October 2023. During this period, China's photovoltaic manufacturing industry continued to operate at a high level. According to the information of photovoltaic industry standard announcement enterprises and industry associations, the output of silicon materials, silicon wafers, batteries and components in China increased by more than 60% year on year. From September to October
, the output of polysilicon in China reached 236,600 tons, an increase of 90% over the same period last year. In
the silicon wafer sector , the national output reached 87.95 GW in September-October, up 61% year-on-year. From September to October
, the output of crystalline silicon batteries in China reached 83.81 GW, an increase of 78.7% over the same period last year. From September to October
, the output of crystalline silicon modules in China reached 79 GW, an increase of 86.7% over the same period last year.
According to the above summary , from January to October, the output of crystalline silicon batteries in China exceeded 403 GW , and the total export of photovoltaic wafers, batteries and modules reached 42.99 billion US dollars.
On the other hand, since the second half of the year, the price of domestic photovoltaic products has been declining continuously. From January to October, the price of polysilicon and module products decreased by 60% and 40% respectively. The export growth of some photovoltaic products has slowed down, of which the export volume of modules decreased by 4.6% year-on-year. The risk of overcapacity in the middle and low end needs to be highly concerned.
