On November 29, the Fifth China Cement Intelligent Summit Forum, sponsored by China Cement Network, was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Professor Zhu Yucai, School of Control Science and Engineering,
Zhejiang University, made a keynote report on Model Predictive Control and Operation Optimization of Cement Production Line. He introduced the problems and challenges in the automatic control and optimization of cement plants. He pointed out that most cement production lines are operated by remote manual operation, and there is a large space for automation and optimization. However, the difficulties in the automation of cement plants lie in: 1. Large interference range; 2. Complex multivariable constraint control problems, and it is difficult to use PID control; 3. Modeling is difficult.
He said that intelligent cement plants should be based on model predictive control and operation optimization of intelligent modeling, and model predictive control and operation optimization have great potential.
