Jan 15 (Reuters)-a unit of solar panel maker Maxeon Solar Technologies has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in a German court against China's Shanghai Aixu Solar and its subsidiaries, accusing them of violating European patents on solar cells. Singapo
re-based Maxeon said on Wednesday that its proprietary base solar cell architecture for rear-contact or back-contact solar cells, called all-back-contact (ABC) solar cells, helps generate higher energy yields than conventional cells. "Maxeon expects Aiko and Memodo (Aiko's wholesalers) to respect the patent rights and immediately cease unauthorized use of the patented technology," Lindsey Wiedmann
, Maxeon's chief legal and sustainability officer, said in a statement.
Asahi Solar did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters. Earlier
this year, rival solar panel maker First Solar struck a deal with Toledo Solar after suing the company in Ohio District Court for allegedly selling First Solar's Asian-made panels under the "Made in America" label. According to
the data, Maxeon was spun off from SunPower, an American photovoltaic company founded in 1985, and was acquired by Singapore in August 2020. Take over Maxeon Solar Technologies. In November

Up to now, TCL Zhonghuan has become the largest shareholder of Maxeon.
