On January 9, Fengxian 1 # Offshore Photovoltaic Project , a large-scale centralized offshore photovoltaic key project in Shanghai, was officially launched .
The project is located in the northern sea area of Hangzhou Bay, Fengxian District, Shanghai, and forms the same layout with the existing wind power projects. After the completion of the project, the average annual power generation will exceed 830 million kilowatt-hours, which can meet the electricity demand of about 250000 households, save about 250600 tons of standard coal and reduce about 682100 tons of carbon dioxide annually. 2025, Shanghai Electric Power announced that the company had obtained the competitive allocation construction index of Shanghai Fengxian 1 # offshore photovoltaic project. The announcement shows that the installed capacity of the project is 500000 kilowatts , which is the first batch of offshore photovoltaic pilot projects in Shanghai. On September 10,
2025, Shanghai Electric Power issued the resolution announcement of the fifth meeting of the ninth board of directors. The meeting approved the proposal on the investment decision of Shangdian Green Energy Fengxian No.1 Offshore Photovoltaic Project. The project is constructed by Shanghai Electric Power Green Energy Co., Ltd. , a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Electric Power, with a total dynamic tax-inclusive investment of no more than 3.780 billion yuan .
